Liars at a Funeral

A Family Farce

June 25 to July 12, 2025

Written by Sophia Fabiilli

A new Canadian comedy that turns grief into a hilarious journey of unexpected revelations and side-splitting confessions, Liars at a Funeral is a raucous farce bursting with eccentric characters, witty banter, hidden identities, and irreverent humour that will make you laugh at life, death, and family.

When an estranged family gathers to mourn the passing of their matriarch, the funeral erupts into more of a dysfunctional reunion than any of them could predict. Secrets unravel, long-buried truths emerge, a family curse keeps siblings apart, and—surprise!—it turns out grandma has exaggerated her demise in a last-ditch attempt to get the whole wild and woolly clan together under the same roof.

Can this eccentric clan of liars navigate the rocky road to reconciliation? Or will the next 24 hours be the final nail in this dysfunctional family’s coffin? Find out in this uproarious romp that pokes fun at the absurdities of family dynamics and the desperate lengths we go to for love and connection.

Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Running Time: 2 hours and 10 minutes, including a 20 minute intermission.

Reviews

Liars at a Funeral was truly one of the best and funniest plays we have seen. If you can get tickets I highly recommend it, you wont be disappointed. The cast was excellent and this venue has a lot of parking with great restaurants near by.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. The actors performed an amazing job in their dal roles as two different characters. The script provided many belly laughs and the staging was excellent. Well done.
