Drayton Entertainment is a registered, not-for-profit charitable organization and one of Canada's most successful professional theatre companies. We present the finest in live theatre for all ages at seven unique venues across Ontario: the Drayton Festival Theatre in Drayton, Huron Country Playhouse (Mainstage and South Huron Stage) in Grand Bend, King's Wharf Theatre in Penetanguishene, St. Jacobs Country Playhouse and Hildebrand Schoolhouse Theatre in St. Jacobs, and the Hamilton Family Theatre Cambridge. We also operate a Youth Academy in Waterloo.

DRAYTON ENTERTAINMENT YOUTH ACADEMY MISSION

The Drayton Entertainment offers arts education through the training hub of its state-of-the-art training facility. Its mission is to provide performing and technical arts training opportunities anchored in the Drayton Entertainment brand of live theatre excellence, facilitated by professional industry mentors. It is committed to generational change and aims to dismantle the financial, cultural and physical barriers that have traditionally existed in arts education.

Duties and Responsibilities may include

•    Developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with the Academy's goals.
•    Creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging posts across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok to connect with the existing audience and attract new followers.
•    Recording and editing videos in collaboration with the Marketing & Development team to support the Academy’s promotional strategies.
•    Monitoring social media channels, responding to comments and messages appropriately and promptly, and fostering community engagement.
•    Analyzing social media metrics, generating performance reports, and adjusting strategies based on insights.
•    Designing compelling graphics, videos, and other multimedia content that align with the Academy’s vision.
•    Writing clear, engaging, and on-brand captions, headlines, and copy for all digital platforms.
•    Collaborating with other departments to source and showcase compelling stories, events, and updates.
•    Assisting in planning and executing digital ad campaigns, including boosted posts, pay-per-click (PPC) ads, and sponsored content.
•    Optimizing social media posts and campaigns for SEO and audience reach.
•    Designing visually appealing marketing materials such as posters, flyers, brochures, and banners for both online and print use.
•    Maintaining and updating brand assets, ensuring consistent use across all channels.
•    Collaborating with the team on the visual elements of campaigns, ensuring all content aligns with the Academy’s vision and mission.
•    Staying updated on industry trends, platform updates, and best practices in social media and digital marketing.
•    Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align messaging and campaigns with organizational objectives.
•    Supporting the execution of events by promoting them online and providing digital content coverage during events.
•    Other related duties as assigned. 

 Required Skills and Qualifications

•    Demonstrated enthusiasm for arts education.
•    Proven experience as a Social Media Coordinator or in a similar role.
•    Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
•    Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their best practices.
•    Basic knowledge of digital marketing tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, and email marketing platforms (e.g., Prospect2).
•    Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
•    Creative thinker and idea generator with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
•    Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
•    Previous experience with a non-profit organization is an asset.
•    Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
•    Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and meetings.

Term:  Full-time; Immediate Start.

This is an in-person, onsite position based at the Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy in Waterloo, ON.
