Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Lyrics by Tim Rice
A global phenomenon that has wowed audiences for the past five decades, Jesus Christ Superstar is a timeless work set against the backdrop of an extraordinary and universally-known series of events, but seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot.
The story, told entirely through song, explores the personal relationships and struggles between Jesus, Judas, Mary Magdalene, his disciples, his followers, and the Roman Empire. Reflecting the rock roots that defined a generation, the legendary ’70s score includes “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Gethsemane,” and “Superstar.”
A thrilling rock opera that reinvented musical theatre for the modern age, Jesus Christ Superstar continues to touch new generations of audiences with its contemporary imagining of the biblical tale and thematic issues of fame, revolution, radicalism, and humility. Don’t miss it.
Recommended for ages 13 and up.
Running Time: 2 hours, including a 20 minute intermission
The talent was incredible! The actors were amazing, vocals were so pure and strong, the whole production was great! I would reccomend it to anyone! The playhouse itself was lovely and well kept and the grounds were beautiful. We will definitely be back!
