March Break Broadway Bootcamp

Calling all theatre fans ages 8 to 18!
Join us for five days of singing, acting and movement as Drayton Entertainment’s Youth Academy
proudly presents two new training programs featuring Musical Theatre’s greatest Showstoppers!

 

     

Ages: 8 – 12
Location: Drayton Entertainment Youth Academy
Date: Monday, March 13 to Friday, March 17
Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 
Cost: $395 plus tax 

Learn FOUR major production numbers from classic Disney musicals. Performers will receive practical insight into how big musical numbers are rehearsed and performed while they work with Associate Artistic Director David Connolly and professional artists to produce a showcase of classic Disney showstoppers. Building on the fundamentals of singing, acting, and movement, students will develop an understanding of reading sheet music, vocal production, choreography and creating dynamic characters within the ensemble. The Final Showcase will be presented on Friday, March 17 at 3:00 p.m. In addition, students will attend Master Classes with Industry Professionals.

MARCH BREAK MUSIC DIRECTOR

As the Music Director for the Canadian vocal supergroup, The Tenors, Darryn has shared the stage and worked with many legends: Paul Anka, David Foster, Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, Harry Connick Jr., Kenny G, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, and Stevie Wonder, to name just a few. He also has spent time with and performed for many world & creative leaders, including Barack & Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
As an educator, Darryn has pioneered vocal and theatre programs around the province including the Milton Youth Theatre Productions, the Studio School of Dance, Brampton Theatre School, Yellow Door Theatre, and Centre Stage Conservatory, pushing creative programming and a teaching method for student toolkit and confidence building.
Besides being a gifted communicator, Darryn connects and builds strong rapport with young artists looking to grow and understand how to improve their craft through meaningful and responsible mentorship.
