Outrageous behind-the-scenes antics take centre stage when two fading actors are given another shot at the limelight in this uproarious comedy by the playwright of Lend Me A Tenor.
George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the '50s, are stuck in a professional rut. They have been relegated to appearing in repertory productions of Noel Coward's Private Lives and Cyrano de Bergerac with five other actors in Buffalo, New York. However, their stalled careers may be revived by a surprise visit from film director Frank Capra - they just need to make a good impression.
Of course, everything that can go wrong does ... from a pregnant ingénue, to a deaf old stage manager, to inebriated stars who cannot even remember what play they are performing! A love letter to live theatre, Moon Over Buffalo shines a spotlight on the stage with a superb sense of absurdity that will leave audiences in hysterics.
